During the year, scouts are presented their rank advancements and merit badges at a Court of Honor.  These are held during the year at special events and there are separate Eagle Scout Courts of Honor for the scouts of Troop 93 who have achieved this highest level of rank and honor in Boy Scouts.

In addition to merit badges and rank advancement, there are other awards that a scout can earn.  These include religious awards, world conservation award, totin’ chip, firem’n chit.  Check with the Scoutmaster or Advancement Committee Chairperson if you are interested in any of these.

The Charles L. Jeffords Award for Scout of the Year is determined by a point system.

The point system is intended to encourage advancement and participation in troop activities. The point tabulation begins in September of each year and ends on August 31st of the following year.

In order to be eligigble for “Scout of the Year”, a scout must attend (5) overnights, (the Long Trip will be considered as an overnight), and must show “Scout Spirit” by participating in a minimum of (7) “service time events”.  See the list below for more details.

Scouts who meet the above requirements will then be interviewed by the Point System Committee to determine who best exemplifies Scout Spirit and being a Scout 24/7.

In the event that two or more boys are tied for the award, the boys will be designated “Scouts of the Year” and each shall receive an award.
