Summer Camp at Yawgoog Scout Reservation located in Rockville, Rhode Island, (southwestern Rhode Island). This year we have reserved one week:
Sunday, July 10-Sunday July 17, 2011. We will meet at the VFW on Sunday, July 10 at 12:00 pm for Check-In. Scouts need to be wearing full Class-A uniforms & have footlocker fully packed.
Full payment of $410.00 is due prior to April 11, 2011 regular meeting in order to receive 2 Troop t-shirts & Camp Yawgoog hat. Please RSVP early. See Treasurer, Mr. Elliot Weiss at any Monday night Troop meeting and make checks payable to Troop 93. Download the Summer Camp application
Troop 93 requires the new 2011 BSA medical form (the original and 2 copies), completely filled out and signed by parent & physician, for all Scouts & adult campers.
Since the Trading Post at Yawgoog sells pocketknives (and they are a popular item for new Scouts), we require a parent’s signature indicating Yes or No in order for your son to purchase a pocketknife at the Trading Post. This eliminates any confusion while we are away at Summer Camp. Summer Camp Permission slip (pdf file)
The Scoutmaster must approve merit badges & sign-off on any pre-requisites before attending Summer Camp. Download the 2011 Merit Badge Schedule, or visit the Yawgoog website at www.yawgoog.org for their complete list, merit badge workbooks, requirements &/or pre-requisites for each.

Staff:
A nationally certified Reservation Director administers Summer Camp at Yawgoog and all Key Staffers are certified in their respective area of expertise and responsibility. A full-time health care provider is always on duty at the Health Lodge, and Resident Physicians are available on a full-time basis. There are also full-time Jewish, Catholic and Protestant Chaplains in the Yawgoog Staff and religious observances of each of these faiths are conducted regularly.
Facilities:
Yawgoog consists of 1800 acres of mixed-use properties surrounding beautiful Yawgoog Pond. Resident Rangers attend to the maintenance and development of the properties. Strict standards regarding health, safety, and cleanliness are maintained. The programs at Yawgoog Scout Reservation are open to all registered Scouts.
Troop Camping:
Chartered Troop camping is one of the most common ways to spend a week at summer camp. When camping with the troop, all of the registration, fees, medical documents, etc. will be handled by the designated Committee member (of Troop 93).
Health Forms:
All resident campers and leaders at Yawgoog Scout reservation must submit 2 copies of the new 2011 BSA medical form at check-in, an annual health history signed by parents or guardian supported by a medical evaluation within the last 12 months by a licensed health-care practictioner (also, 12 months for Leaders 40 years of age or older). A parent or guardian must sign the Scout’s health form. Under no circumstances will a Scout or Leader be permitted to remain in camp unless a properly completed health form is on file.
