The Troop Committee
Please feel free to contact any of them with any questions that you might have, or attend the next Committee meeting and volunteer some of your time to the Troop. The Troop Committee is also your resource for copies of forms, troop phone list and troop calendar. All of our forms are available here on the website for you to print out (with the exception of the phone list, for privacy reasons)
Committee members may interact with Scouts. For example, they may be assisted by youth leaders or they may provide technical training to the Scouts as merit badge counselors. Committee members most important direct interaction with Scouts occurs during boards of review.
Committee members assemble in groups of 3 to 6 in order to constitute boards of review. After a Scoutmaster has conducted a Scoutmaster conference with the Scout and determined he is ready for advancement, a Scout must meet with a board of review. An important function of the board of review is to allow the committee to collect data from the individual scouts about the success of the Program and deliver that feedback to the Scoutmasters. In this role, a board of review may also meet with a Scout whose advancement progress has stalled.
Some of these positions only require a minimal amount of time, and can be shared with another parent, or tasks can be taken on for a month or two to help out. If you cannot commit to a Committee position, please sign up for set-up or clean-up at our scheduled activites throughout the year. We can always use a helping hand. I'm a paragraph.
The Troop Committee is made up exclusively of trained adult leaders and volunteers for the benefit of all of the boys in Troop 93. Committee meetings are usually held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm, downstairs in the VFW. Check our online Troop Calendar to verify dates.
In order to organize and run a successful Boy Scout Troop we rely on the participation of this dedicated group of adult leaders and parents. Troop 93 is very fortunate to have the following Troop Committee members to help the boys in all of their activities.
